Berthany: A Handwritten Font That Elevates Branding with Vintage Charm

Berthany for Bakery Packaging and Cozy Branding

As I sat down to redesign the packaging for my small bakery, I knew I needed a font that felt warm, personal, and just a little bit nostalgic. Enter Berthany, a Script Handwritten Font with an organic feel that immediately made me think of handwritten notes on lined paper. Its vintage charm was exactly what I was looking for to match the cozy, home-baked vibe of my brand.

Using Berthany on the labels for our seasonal cookie boxes gave the design a personal touch that stood out on the shelf. It wasn’t too formal, nor was it too casual — just right for a brand that wanted to feel like a neighbor rather than a corporation.

Berthany in Café Menus and Customer-Friendly Design

A few weeks later, I was tasked with updating the café menu for our new location. The previous version had a modern sans serif font that felt cold and impersonal. I decided to test Berthany as the main text for the headings, pairing it with a clean sans serif for the body copy.

The result? A menu that looked inviting and approachable. Customers commented on how much they liked the handcrafted look, and it helped reinforce the café’s identity as a place where every detail mattered. Berthany added that subtle layer of personality that made the menu feel more like a story than a list of items.

I found that Berthany worked best for short phrases and display text — perfect for section headers or special promotions. For longer paragraphs, I stuck with a complementary sans serif to ensure readability across different screen sizes and print formats.

Berthany on Thank-You Cards and Brand Consistency

Another moment I used Berthany was when designing thank-you cards for our customers. We wanted to make sure every piece of customer-facing material aligned with our brand voice. Berthany brought that consistent feel from the packaging to the cards, reinforcing the idea that everything we created was thoughtful and well-crafted.

I also noticed how Berthany played nicely with other Fonts in our branding toolkit. Pairing it with a minimalist sans serif for subheadings and body text created a balanced look that felt both elegant and easy on the eyes.

For smaller labels or mobile screens, I made sure to use a slightly larger size and keep the spacing generous to maintain legibility. Berthany isn’t the best for long blocks of text, but it shines when used sparingly for emphasis or decorative accents.

Berthany for Instagram Templates and Social Media Graphics

When updating our Instagram templates, I wanted something that would stand out in a feed full of clean, modern designs. Berthany became the go-to choice for captions and call-out text. Its vintage charm added a unique flair that set our posts apart while still feeling authentic to our brand.

I experimented with using Berthany in different weights and styles, and even incorporated some ligatures to give the text a more natural flow. This attention to detail helped elevate the overall look of our social media presence, making it more engaging and visually cohesive.

One thing I always check before using any Font is whether it includes commercial licensing. With Berthany, I was confident it could be used across all our marketing materials, from digital ads to printed merchandise.

Berthany for Product Labels and Skincare Branding

Recently, I had the chance to work with a skincare brand that wanted to refresh their product labels. They were looking for something that felt luxurious yet approachable. Berthany fit perfectly into this vision. Its soft curves and handwritten style gave the labels a sense of authenticity and care that resonated with their target audience.

We used Berthany for the product names and key ingredients, while keeping the rest of the label in a clean, modern typeface. This combination helped highlight the most important information without overwhelming the viewer.

The response from customers was positive, with many noting that the new labels felt more personal and trustworthy. Berthany had helped bridge the gap between luxury and accessibility — a balance that’s crucial for any brand looking to build a loyal following.
